WoodrushThe Alternative-Americana sound of Woodrush provides a refreshing live music experience full of rich vocal harmonies and dynamic vocal percussion. Audiences are repeatedly drawn to their infectious melodies, lyrical savvy, and polished musicianship. In an industry where an original sound is becoming harder and harder to find, Woodrush delivers an exciting juxtaposition of musical genres, bringing a welcome variety to any entertainment line up.

Woodrush founders Kelly Shirey (lead vocals, guitar) and Jim Castaneda (vocals, vocal percussion, bass) have performing together for over ten years, recently adding mandolin/guitar player, Brian Rockwell.

Woodrush’s sound has been compared to a blend of classic folk harmonies with a backbone based in rock, funk, and R&B, reminiscent of CSNY, G-Love & Special Sauce or Counting Crows. Compelling melodies, harmonies, and vocal percussion are infused into well-crafted original songs, which make the Woodrush sound quite different from that of the average band. Their rich, melodic music stays with you long after the band has left the stage.

What's next for Woodrush? We've been slowly working on an album with them. You can expect to start hearing more news about that before the end of the year.
